Scottish Roots

“A Love Rooted in Scotland: Unique Wooden Wedding Rings Made from the Isle of Bute”

Dreaming of a Scottish wedding?

When Zanna and Timon decided to tie the knot, there was no doubt in their minds where their journey should lead them – Scotland. This country of dramatic landscapes, rich history, and timeless romance held a special place in their hearts, making it the perfect backdrop for their love story.

A Proposal in the Highlands

It all began on the magical Isle of Skye, where Timon asked Zanna to be his wife. Surrounded by Scotland’s breathtaking natural beauty, the proposal sparked a dream: To return to this land of wonder to celebrate their wedding.

Two years later, that dream became a reality when Zanna and Timon chose the Isle of Bute for their big day. This stunning island, with its rolling hills, charming villages, and serene coastline, provided the perfect setting for an intimate celebration with their closest friends and family.

Rings Rooted in Their Story

For Zanna and Timon, their rings had to be more than just jewellery – they had to carry the essence of their story. Having never worn rings before, they wanted something truly unique, and their search led them to Eco Wood Rings.

What made their rings extraordinary was the wood used to craft them. Sourced from the very Isle of Bute where they exchanged vows, the rings became a tangible connection to the place where their lives were forever joined. “Who can say that?” Zanna marvels, reflecting on how special it was to wear rings so deeply rooted in the significance of their wedding day.

A Leap of Faith

Creating their perfect rings wasn’t without its challenges. Differences in ring sizing between Belgium, where they live, and the UK required a leap of faith. To avoid hefty import taxes, they arranged for their celebrant, Debbie Darby, to receive the rings in Scotland.

It wasn’t until the day of the wedding that Zanna and Timon saw their rings for the first time – just hours before their ceremony. “I was really relieved,” Zanna recalls. “The rings were beautiful and fit exactly as they should!”

A Day to Remember

With their handcrafted wooden rings in hand, Zanna and Timon celebrated their union in true Scottish style. The sounds of bagpipes played by Grant Macleod (@munrobagpiper) echoed through the air, while the stunning green dress Zanna chose added a vibrant, nontraditional touch to the day.

From the personalised rings to the breathtaking photography by Emma of @wardropephotography, every detail of their wedding reflected the love they share and the connection they feel to Scotland.

A Symbol of Forever

Zanna and Timon’s wedding rings are more than symbols of their marriage – they’re pieces of Scotland, forever tying their love story to the land where their journey began. As they look to the future, their rings serve as a daily reminder of their vows, their adventures, and the magical place that brought it all together.
